how much do you charge?
This really shouldn’t be the first question. However, it often is, so let me explain the process. For me to provide a quote tailored specifically for your special event, I need three pieces of information:
- The date
- The location/venue
- The expected number of guests (approximately)
The further I have to travel and the greater the number of guests, the higher the quote will be. However, I understand that each event is unique, and I am flexible in my pricing. Midweek and weekend prices also differ. A small house party on my doorstep for 20 people will be a different fee from a black-tie dinner for 150 guests 100 miles away. Every event is unique.
Rest assured, my aim is to deliver top-quality entertainment that creates a memorable experience for your event and gives you value for money.
how long do you perform for?
One hour is the usual minimum, and four hours is the typical maximum. To make that decision, I need to consider your guest numbers, the event itinerary, and what else is taking place during that time.
Rest assured, I am always ready to adapt. My main goal is to entertain, not to rigidly adhere to a set performance duration. I am here to make your event a success. I will always fit in with slight alterations if necessary.
Suppose you have a limited time window in which I can operate and a large number of guests. In that case, I will always explain the merits of bringing a second magician.

is this your full-time job?
Yes, it is.
Initially, when I started in 2009, it was part-time. However, it has been my full-time occupation since 2015. My business has been thriving since then. At the last count, I have entertained at over 1,000 events.
why should I hire YOU when I can find a cheaper quote elsewhere?
When obtaining quotes, please expect fees to vary quite significantly. There is no single “magical” price for a magician.
As with all professions, much depends on experience, level of performance, and client base. For some, this kind of work is a hobby. For others, it is a profession demanding considerable experience, a strong reputation for reliability, and high entertainment value. Please check my reviews.
The key is to find someone you’re confident can transform your event within a sensible pricing framework. When hiring a singer, Elton John will cost you significantly more than a singer you see in the local pub.
My general advice is not to select purely on the fee size.
how do I know if you’re right for my wedding/party/event?
Good question! Browse my website and get an initial feel for whether you want to shortlist me. Check my reviews. After that we can chat on the phone or on Zoom or sometimes we can even have a coffee and a magic demonstration. Anything is possible.
what kind of magic do you do?
My specialty is close-up magic, a style that allows me to mingle with small groups of guests at parties, drinks receptions, or formal dinners.
My performances are not only visually stunning but also highly interactive, ensuring a fun-filled experience for everyone. In addition to the traditional magician’s props like cards and coins, I incorporate a wide variety of everyday objects, often borrowed from the audience, making the show relatable and engaging.
And just when you least expect it, I might surprise you with some spontaneous mind reading or an unexpected twist!
can you offer a show?
Yes. If requested and the numbers are not too great, I can end the session with a short (typically 25-minute) interactive parlour show for the whole room. It has lots of audience participation and is a mixture of magic, impossible coincidences, and psychological mysteries.
how do I book you?
Just contact me via my website, phone number, or e-mail, and I’ll handle the rest. You will receive a crystal-clear booking confirmation, and I will stay in touch with you until your event comes around. If you need to make changes along the way, no problem.
how far in advance should I book?
It’s never too early and sometimes never too late. Certain times, such as Christmas and the wedding season, get booked early. Weekdays are generally less well booked than Fridays and weekends. However, occasionally, there are gaps in the diary or cancellations, so it’s always worth checking and chatting about various possibilities.
what if I book you and you’re taken ill?
It’s a question worth asking, and I understand this concern.
Unlike performers in a West End musical who have the luxury of a permanent understudy, magicians like me face unique challenges. We’re all human, and we can all fall ill. However, even in such situations, I’m committed to ensuring your event’s success.
I very rarely get ill, but it can happen. The flu, accidents, surgery, COVID-19, etc., are sometimes unavoidable. In these cases, I will always communicate with you promptly and offer to source a fantastic replacement magician from my list of trusted and reliable contacts, ensuring you receive the same high-quality entertainment.
If, for any reason, you don’t want my replacement, I will provide a full refund within 24 hours, no questions asked. Ensuring your satisfaction is my top priority.
have I thought of all the important questions?
I think so! However, if you think of something not covered above, feel free to get in touch. I love discussing people’s events and I’m happy to answer any questions.
